對(duì)于提槍上陣的考生來(lái)講，高考確實(shí)令他們緊張異常；但對(duì)考生的父母來(lái)講，高考怎能用一個(gè)“緊張”來(lái)簡(jiǎn)單形容？他們的緊張里有焦慮、有期望、更有溢于言表的關(guān)切和厚愛(ài)。他們得考慮孩子的飲食、孩子的乘車(chē)路線(xiàn)，甚至是孩子打的的車(chē)牌號(hào)……

報(bào)道中的plate就是我們?nèi)粘Ｋ��?jiàn)的“車(chē)牌”。如果您想強(qiáng)調(diào)“帶有車(chē)牌號(hào)的車(chē)牌”，可在plate前面加上number；而如果您言談的重心是在“車(chē)牌號(hào)”上，則可表達(dá)為plate number。例如：The car, with the plate number W856RKX, has fled the scene after running into the poor old man.（車(chē)牌號(hào)為W856RKX的肇事車(chē)輛撞了那位可憐的老人后從現(xiàn)場(chǎng)逃跑。）

另外，再介紹兩個(gè)與plate相關(guān)的詞組：put up one's plate指的是“醫(yī)生掛牌行醫(yī)”；而hand/give sb. sth. on a plate則是指“爽快地給某人東西”，如：You can't expect people to give you all the answers on a plate.（你不要指望別人會(huì)把答案順順當(dāng)當(dāng)?shù)叵蚰愫捅P(pán)托出。）
