1. forget通常指忘記具體的東西（如名字、號碼、地址等），forget about后者通常指忘記一件事情（如開會、學習、吃飯、鎖門等）。比較：

I forget her name. 我把她的名字給忘了。

Don't forget about your study. 別忘了學習。

They were so busy that they even forgot about their own meals. 他們忙得連飯都忘記吃。

2. 有時兩者可換用，尤其是表示“不要把…放在心上”時。如：
